Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me The Pliers

The Firesign Theatre are four surrealist poets who met on Los Angeles radio in 1966 and are still working and writing together today. Their Grammy-nominated, million-selling catalogue includes Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me the Pliers and I Think We're All Bozos On This Bus. They have given the world over thirty much-loved comedy albums, chock-a-block with a thousand catch phrases that have already entered the American lexicon, several of which you probably used yesterday without even realizing it.

Taylor has been working with Firesign since 1998. Most recently he produced their boxed set Box of Danger, the complete adventures of Nick Danger on four CDs, for the Santa Monica label Shout! Factory. In the past he has also done sound design for their live performances in 2009 (Golden State Theatre, Monterey) and 2004 (Los Angeles Natural History Musem, with Sandra Tsing Loh and Culture Clash). In 2005 he coordinated their "Radio's a Heartbreak" tour of the West coast (you can read his Tour Diary here). In 2001-2 h was Associate Producer of their XM Satellite Radio series Fools in Space.
